Preventing terror attacks
and crimes against our citizens has become a vital security
concern for our country and our allies. Fundamentalist
ideologies have threatened our national security. Terror
groups have had access to hazardous materials using them
in non-conventional and suicidal terrorist acts. Conventional
searches for concealed weapons, explosives and classified
materials is no longer sufficient. National infra-structures,
including airports, sea and land ports, mass transit systems,
high security facilities, nuclear power plants, prisons,
and secured government buildings are vulnerable targets
for terrorists and criminal attacks. Using today’s
methods of fingerprinting, identity verification, background
checks, and body scans, we are still unable to detect if
a person has been compromised. GK1
